Xixi is having several ulcer in her mouth, since last week the ulcer start from tongue and its spread to inner lip(upper and lower), so poor thing. She use to be a 水桶“water pail” that she actually drink plenty of water every day and I been boiled barley water for her frequently but still she got attacked by the heatiness! Poor girl, due to the ulcer,
  • She was very reluctant to taking meal. I have difficulty to feed her during meal time. Most of the times I bribe her by sweet or snack, otherwise she will take forever to finish a bowl of porridge.
  • She doesn’t want to drink plain water! (*sigh* this is the most headache part!) Once the straw from the sippy cup touch her lip she will straight push it away! Again I got to bribe her by other sweet sweet drink like honey lime juice, barley water etc… and spoon feed her!
  • Keep saying 痛痛! (pain pain) and cry middle of the night when her pacifier drop off. Hoohooo…sleepless night.
  • Keep drooling, not because she was hungry but I guess the pain really makes her feel uncomfortable.
  • Refuse to let me clean her mouth/face during bath time. Refuse to brush teeth start today. Keep saying 不要,不要!!(No, No!)
  • Refuse to open her mouth to let me check on her and apply medicine on the infection area. She never rejects the oral gel prescribed by Paed before and been like it so much because it taste sweet, but today she hide herself away when she saw I bring the gel to her.

My poor girl… I know she must be very painful and feel very uncomfortable but somehow I was very “Pek-Chek” whenever she said “No! No! to me! Arghhh…hopefully her ulcer will get healed very soon!! As her 2n birthday is just around the corner, can’t resist seeing her suffering on her BIG day!

Weather is so hot recently!! I was thinking to eat something soupy and the dumpling from Judy’s site really makes me drools… Actually I was tends to make dumpling since weeks ago, but just too lazy have no time… heheh. So I drag and drag and finally I made my dumpling on last Saturday.

I was goggling high and low for dumpling recipe from the internet since I was craving for it so badly, and I got this recipe from Rasa Malaysia. Ingredients for dumpling can simply get from wet market: pork, medium shrimp, carrot, water chestnut, shitake mushroom and of cos the dumpling wrapper. The preparation and chopping jobs were more time consuming; however the wrapping process is much easy for me. I choose the round shape dumpling wrapper as it is easier for wrapping.

With the portion of ingredients I’ve made 22 dumplings, I still have some left-over dumpling wrapper in my fridge, thinking to make dumpling again this weekends =)

Dumpling with Kuey Teow soup as lunch. Thinking to cook wanton noodle "kon lou mee" 干涝面 next, but don't have the recipe. Can anyone share your recipe for wanton noodle (kon lou mee)?

Ta daa….

So this is my “not so new” mobile phone, already use it for a month. Hahaha! No, it was not my birthday nor any of the anniversaries gift. Hubby bought this new phone merely because I got a “problematic” phone (K?50i) previously! Okay, let me complaint a bit about my old phone here… First, the touch screen button was really not user friendly; it’s either too sensitive or not functional at all! Second, though the phone did come with 5MP built in camera, but the pictures taken always turn out blur and dark! The picture’s color, sharpness, brightness are lousy!! The worst thing is... the phone was “hospitalized” for three times within a warranty year! And that was the reason why hubby insists to get a new phone. It’s not worth to pay for repairing charges after the warranty period ends, agree? So we decided to trade in the old phone since it still got a bit market value. Heheh =)

Actually I do not have any preference on any mobile phone to use. As long as I can make/receive calls, sms, take pictures I will be more than happy already. But hubby is more particular on choosing a phone. Hahaha! The main reason he choose this phone was because of the built in GPS and WIFI! Oh ya, forgot to mention, I and hubby sharing same phone whenever he off from work. And that is why he so particular la!

So in overall we both very satisfy about the new phone, it’s stylish in look and its light (98g only); multi-functional and user friendly. Click here to check out more on G705!
When Xixi still a little baby, she outgrows her clothing very fast; usually she can wear her baby clothing for maximum 3 months only. And hence I got to replenish bigger clothes for her every 2-3 months. Although most of her infant clothing is passing down by my cousin, but somehow I just couldn’t stop myself from buying those cute infant clothing and toddler clothing for her whenever I pass by baby department. That is why her clothes are getting more and almost occupied a whole cabinet already.

Besides the clothing that occupied most of the cabinet space; her nursery furniture likes baby cribs and cradle net which are no longer in use also occupied my store room space. I was thinking how to get rid of all those used baby products. I think I will either keep it for future use if I have second baby or sell it through online to get some money in returns.
Top: Xixi’s old pacifier being magnate on our fridge. Hahaha! It was Mummy’s idea; Daddy’s creation. =)
Bottom: Xixi’s new pacifier bought from daddy few days ago.

Xixi spoiled her pacifier by bite it to broken last week. Although at first I have no intention to buy her new pacifier at all, but to avoid any sleepless night, hubby finally bought a pair of pacifier from Jusco few days ago. Actually I tends to wean Xixi off from pacifier since long ago, but honestly I don’t know how. A friend of mine told me her daughter (1month younger than Xixi) no longer need a soother since half year ago, I was so impressed! For me weaning off pacifier is even tougher than potty training! You know how difficult for Xixi to sleep without a pacifier? The worst thing is she will wake up middle of the night to look for her drop-off pacifier! There were few times I told her no more pacifier for her, I throw away the “tu-tu”(she called pacifier as tu-tu) already or gave it to the “meow-meow” (kitty) outside our house. She was okay at first but after a while she will start asking for her “tu-tu” and kept saying “meow-meow” taken her “tu-tu” already then continue by sobbing pitifully… Aiyoh how can I resist seeing her sobbing like that??

These few days she seems knowing she broke her tu-tu already. Every time she asked for it, she told me “tu-tu 坏!爸爸买!” means her tu-tu spoilt already, asked daddy to buy! But then I told her tu-tu is for small baby. Xixi is a big girl now no longer needs tu-tu. So last night I and hubby decided to DIY her old pacifier (I didn’t throw away her old pacifier) to fridge magnet to see what her reaction the next morning.

This morning when she was told where her tu-tu is, these are her reaction:

Hahaha! She get angry when knowing the tu-tu is not suck-able! But yet she was happily playing with the magnet but kept asking for new tu-tu. Till this afternoon before put her to nap, she was asking for tu-tu again, I told her to get it from the fridge... hahaha! (Still didn't want to show her new pacifier) But then she spotted the new pacifier on the table by herself, straight away she grabbed it and put it into her mouth and happily went into her dreamland...

She was trying to do the "vitcory" gesture, but look at her hand... kind of funny huh! :D

I believe some of you may know what is happening from the picture above. Yes, Xixi is suffering from Mumps (Chinese called 耳下腺炎/腮腺炎。俗称:猪头皮.) Under her left ear, According to old folks, patient who suffers from Mumps will need to get someone writing a “Tiger”(“虎”字) word on where the infection area and the people who write the word must be born in year of Tiger. =) (But of cos that was only a rumor, we did bring Xixi to consult doctor also.)

Yesterday morning after Xixi taken her morning milk around 7.30am, she complained to hubby “痛痛” (pain pain)! However hubby ignored her and continues to sleep… T_T Poor Xixi straight away cried out loud and we found something wrong already. I checked her whole body trying to ask her where she got painful. Her tiny hand keeps touching her cheek and gosh!! I saw her cheek and under ear was swelling!! The first thing came to my mind was: Mumps?! But I couldn’t confirm yet because I suspected the swelling might due to teething? Or she knocks something but we didn’t aware??

We confirmed that was Mumps after we consult her Pediatrician, Dr Chum. Honestly I don’t know how she could suffers from this disease, my mum said must be due to heat from the body, which I don’t quite agreed because Xixi has been drinking more than 20oz plain water a day. Then the answer from doctor was “virus infection”. Anyway Doctor prescribed 2 types of medicine for Xixi; one is the gel to apply on the infection area, another one is liquid medicine to be taken every 6hours. I’m thankful as both medicine works well on Xixi. Up till now her cheek has no more swelling, she can eat like normal, open her mouth big and sing already! Unlike yesterday she was so kesian! When we were eating, she just kept looked at us and cried, because she can’t even open her mouth to eat let alone chewing food. So yesterday the whole day she only taken milks (5times) and some mashed food.

However Doctor told us her right ear might get infected by the virus as well after few days. Oh no… I seriously hope that wouldn’t happen!! I hope my girl will stay healthy, I hope see her smiling everyday! I’m keeping my finger crossed…

I normally don’t cook for Xixi during weekends. Because most of the times we will go out jalan-jalan, or some times if I cook she will just eat whatever we adult eats. Today hubby got to work, so I got to cook for Xixi as usual. So this is what I prepared for her today. Porridge with steamed salmon and fried egg in homemade pork bone soup base. As I mentioned before Xixi doesn’t like meat, the only meat she still okay with is FISH. I remembered I did let her try Salmon before but she doesn’t seem like it. However Salmon is a highly nutrition food; it’s rich of omega 3 fat, protein and Vitamin D.

Actually I got my inspiration from one of the parenthood magazines I’ve bought recently. They introduced some toddler recipe and the topic was talking about SALMON. The nice picture from the magazine was seducing me! Those foods look really tempting and yummy!! That’s why I thought of give it a try by adding in salmon in Xixi;s menu today, heheh =) although I can foreseen the salmon will ended up in my tummy finally.

Hmm… the outcome was as expected. Xixi wasn’t fancy about salmon at all… but I’m glad that she at least had few spoon of porridge that mixed with salmon (I hide the salmon fish inside the porridge) and she didn’t reject it. However her face was telling me she doesn’t like salmon, so ended up she only managed to finish the egg and porridge. Guess I should add in something like lime juice or garlic for marinade salmon next time to make it tastier? Mummies, any suggestion out there?

Oh ya, today is Xixi lunar birthday, no red egg with mee suah but only fried egg for her (so pai seh) T_T as we will only celebrate her birthday on coming May. Lastly not forget to show you the first birthday present she got it for this year, a piggy (山猪)soft toy from her beloved grandma! Oh, she love it so much, she keep saying “娃娃,娃娃”and hugging it into her dreamland! LOL! Thanks grandma!!

Look at the way she hug her soft toy, as if some one going to snatch it away from her! LOL..

My mum loves travelling a lot. She has been travelled to many countries before. Normally after she backed from holidays she will exchange back her remaining foreign currencies to Ringgit Malaysia. But occasionally she will keep some small notes and coins of various countries for remembrance.

The other day I saw she busied segregate her coins and notes into different packing as over the years she has collected quite a lot of foreign notes and coins; thus it’s time for her to do some house keeping. Its fun seeing so many foreign notes and coins on the table; from gold coins to silver coins, some are really unique and rare. I guess those rare silver coins will be very valuable one day as the metal used in them being silver has high market value.

Everyone has a name. However choosing a perfect name for your baby can be a daunting task. No matter you’re looking for a baby boys or girls name, you’re sure to find plenty of inspiration and baby name meaning before you named your baby. Most people have a vague idea what their name means. Whether you are an expert on a name, or just know yours well, you may find or edit it here on Namespedia. This site is for those who want to see and maybe to contribute to name meanings, provenience and other information related to their names which means it is probably also related to their ancestors.

Every time I pass color pencils to Xixi, I noticed that she not really interested to even draw a single line on the paper. In fact she will give me the color pencil one by one asking me to color/draw for her. She will name out the object she wants then I draw one by one for her. So I guess Xixi got inherited from her daddy and mummy because both I and hubby are not talented in art! We must admit that we have zero creativity at all! Haha!

I was thrilled till I finally tricked this cheeky girl into doodling something recently. Heheh =) I drew for her as usual, but this time I hold her hands with mine and we doodling together. She doesn’t show me any excited face at first until she saw something colorful appeared on the paper. Haha! She kept clapping hands and doing the thumbs up gesture!! (Means she very pandai) After that I kept on encourage her to draw more by using other colors but eventually she still preferred color red and blue! So ended up you can see her first masterpiece was mostly full of red and blue. This is her first masterpiece on 25-March-09.

However, while I was thrilling because my little girl has finally comes out with her first masterpiece, this is what I saw on the table!

Yes, she fully utilized her color pencils with her Mag-Mag cup! Don’t know to laugh or cry…However after several attempts of drawing, I guess she has started to fall in love with it. She no longer need my helping hands, look at her, she use 2 hands to draw at the same time! Geng leh... LOL! But anyway she could only concentrate her doodling fun for about... less than 5 minutes a day. *Sigh*

So this is her lastest drawing on last friday 3-April-2009. I asked her to draw circle and she ended up showed me this:
